Victimization, loneliness, overt and relational violence at the school from a gender perspective

This ex post facto study analyzes both the direct relationships between victimization and overt and relational violent behavior of students adolescents as the indirect relationships between these variables through the classroom environment, the loneliness, the nonconformist ideal reputation and transgression of social norms. The sample consisted of 1,795 adolescents (48% females) aged 11 to 18 years (M = 14.2, SD = 1.68). The Orton's hypothesis about hemispheric lateralization and reading writing performance revisited: an ex post facto study in Spanish context

This paper attempts to inquiry the connections between hemispherical laterality and reading-writing performance, based on the theory that Samuel T. Orton established over 60 years ago. No evidence has been found to show a significant correlation between both constructs. Therefore, the widely held belief that the one depends on the other can be refuted.

Young adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are at high risk of substance use (SU). The aims of the current study were: 1) to examine the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other illegal drugs by adults with and without ADHD; 2) to compare the oppositional, conduct, anxiety, depression, sleep and antisocial personality symptoms of ADHD adults with SU and ADHD adults without SU; 3) to examine the ability of ADHD symptoms and conduct problems to predict SU.
